Waterfalls, ledges and grottos, built into the pool
Rock, water, shelves and shade drawn into the shell from day one, for pools across Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.
Start with the yard, then pick what earns its place
Almost anything you can imagine is how Camp Pool Builders answers the feature question, and it's meant literally. The better question is which features suit the lot you actually have. A freeform or lagoon outline softens a tree-lined Bluffton backyard. A Grecian or geometric shape sets a formal line against a Hilton Head Island house with clean architecture.
Small yards are not a dead end. Lot sizes in the Lowcountry have shrunk, and Kevin Camp has built in tight spaces often enough to know where a tanning ledge can double as a bench and where a raised wall can hold a spa and a spill of water in the same footprint.

Screened indoor pool with a rock waterfall and flagstone, 14 Laurel Springs, Bluffton
How rock, water and shelves get built into the pool
Waterfalls and rock features are shaped and set while the shell is still open, so the plumbing for them runs where it should and the stone sits on structure, not on hope. Jump rocks, grottos and fountains work the same way. Each one is drawn into the plan, then built by the crew that is forming and finishing the pool.
Cabo shelves come with umbrella sleeves cast in, so the shade goes where the water is shallow and the chairs sit. Tanning ledges, integrated spas and raised walls share the shell with the main pool and are finished in the same tile and interior surface, which is why they read as one piece of work.
Then the details you see every day: interior finishes, tile, swimming pool lighting and the custom pool deck around it all. At 14 Laurel Springs in Bluffton that meant an indoor pool and spa with a rock waterfall. At 248 Good Hope on Hilton Head Island it meant a pool, an outdoor kitchen and the features that tie them together.
Plan it up front so nothing turns into a change order
A feature added after the shell is poured costs more and fits worse. That's the reason Camp walks through every option, and what it costs, before the dig. As Kevin puts it, we don't like issuing change orders any more than our clients like receiving them.
You don't get a pool you outgrow either. If a spa, a waterfall or a lighting package is something you might want in five years, say so in the first meeting and it can be roughed in now, priced openly, and switched on later.
The same person who designs your pool supervises it from start to finish, so the feature you drew on paper is the one you get in the ground. Call Kevin at (843) 683-2862 to set up a free design visit.

Which shell carries the features
Shotcrete takes any shape and the heaviest rock work. Fiberglass takes fewer custom details and goes in faster. Either way, the features are part of the first plan.
